The Habilitation Department implements and monitors programs and supports that assist individuals to live, work, and participate in the community. Individuals interested in receiving services from Richland Newhope Industries (RNI) must be eligible for county board services or be referred through Bureau of Vocational Rehabilitation or Bureau of Services for the Visually Impaired. We have an RN and an LPN available during regular program hours to assist with medication and treatments. RNI also offers individual and group counseling, such as anger management, self-esteem, and social skills. Staff may assist interested individuals in participating in both in-house and community events including, but not limited to exercise, daily living skills training, and community programs. People First, a group of self advocates, have regularly scheduled meetings and provide training on how to speak up for yourself, vote, and accept responsibility for your actions. Several individuals from this group have participated in state and local training events.
